Kris Limcharoen
Chief Executive Officer

Kris Limcharoen practiced law following his graduation from Chulalongkorn University, in private practice in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, reaching the level of partnership early in his career. Recognising the need for a law firm committed to independence, quality and experience in the emerging markets, Kris set up Belmont Limcharoen in partnership, which was rebranded to Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville, bringing his existing following of clients to a new level in terms of client care and service. The Bangkok office promptly established itself as a recognised boutique city practice capable of serving clients in the principal segments of corporate; commercial; litigation and real estate.
Kris is regularly invited to present on legal matters relating to investment in Thailand, and has had published a long record of articles covering a variety of topics on law and investment in the region. Kris has overseen the growth of Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville from its birth as a one location firm, into a successfully expanded firm not only in Thailand, but internationally into Vietnam. Aside from his qualifications in Thailand, Kris is also a registered foreign lawyer in Vietnam. Kris is primarily based in Bangkok, but as Managing Partner, he also provides support to all regional offices in the Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville network.
Kris is a member of the Italian-Thai Chamber of Commerce; the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce and is personally involved in the charitable requirements of children, including the ‘Mercy Homes’ project in Pattaya.

Desmond Hughes

Desmond Hughes practiced law in the United Kingdom as a registered solicitor. Desmond worked in one of the ‘magic circle’ firms, and then trained and practiced at KPMG’s law firm in London, specialising in real estate practice related to corporate investment in that sector. Desmond moved across from the UK as an associate, to become a partner with Kris Limcharoen in Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville and jointly oversaw the setting up of the Phuket office; Koh Samui office and the Ho Chi Minh City office, continuing to set up new offices as Deputy Chief Executive Office overseeing the expansion program. Throughout his term in Thailand, Vietnam and Asia, Desmond has generated a wealth of business contacts and associations of benefit to those seeking knowledge on market practices, and joint ventures. As a real estate and corporate/commercial specialist, Desmond’s clients span CEO’s of public and private companies; branded hotel operators and hotel owners; private equity funds; property funds; high net worth individuals and developers.
Desmond is regularly invited to speak and attend presentations throughout Asia on legal matters relating to investment in Thailand and Vietnam, including exhibitions in Thailand; Hong Kong; Singapore; Malaysia and Vietnam. Desmond has written articles over a period of many years on real estate law and practice in relation to Thailand and Vietnam which are featured in prominent industry specialist publications such as the Property Report – Thailand, and the Property Report – Singapore; Indonesia; Malaysia (which publication covers Vietnam as a jurisdiction). Desmond was listed in 2008 in the Real Estate Power 99 as one of the top 99 most influential industry figures in the real estate market in Thailand. Desmond oversees the operations of client service and care at the Phuket office which he jointly set up in 2004, but divides his time servicing client needs across all office internationally. In each jurisdiction, Desmond maintains connections and a knowledge bank of market practices. Desmond is an officially registered foreign lawyer in Vietnam.
Desmond is a member of the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce; the International Business Association of Phuket; the British Business Association of Phuket; the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and is involved in certain charitable practices linked to sponsorship of impoverished children to receive an education to facilitate opportunity for employment including the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation.

Christian Glanville

Christian Glanville joined Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in 2006, having practised as a lawyer in a city law firm in London, UK. Christian’s specialty as a practitioner in the UK was real estate, which translated well into his first stint as Senior Associate in the Phuket office for 2 years. Christian, having been appointed a partner within Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville following strong involvement in the Phuket practice, now heads up the Koh Samui office and is responsible for servicing and caring for the local and international client base considering investing in the region. Christian has been responsible for developing innovative real estate development structures, including introducing legal frameworks for international fractional and resort collective ownership programs tailored to the legal restrictions and environment of Thailand. Christian has spoken at venues throughout Thailand on topics such as general legal issues in real estate; and specialised construction issues in real estate. He has also contributed to a diverse number of publications distributed internationally such as the Property Report – Thailand; and the Koh-Samui Phang Ngan Magazine.

Mark D’ Alelio

Mark D’Alelio is a qualified attorney in the US, having qualified in Massachusetts, and then at the New York Bar. Mark’s career in Asia commenced with experience as an associate in the Thailand offices of Tilleke & Gibbins. After moving jurisdiction and joining Baker & McKenzie, Vietnam, for two years, Mark’s maturity of experience in Vietnam and a grounding in the Asian legal market supported Mark’s joining Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville to oversee the expansion of Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville internationally through the set up and operation of the Ho Chi Minh Office.
Mark’s broad exposure to corporate and city practice, combined with his previous experience in the Vietnam legal services market, facilitates Mark’s ability to handle all forms of foreign direct investment requirements in respect of legal services. As a registered foreign lawyer in Vietnam, but working closely with his Vietnamese lawyer colleagues in an experienced team, Mark is able to deliver guidance relating to corporate structuring for investment, commercial contracts with local and international corporations and individuals; labour law and local regional compliance requirements, and combined with leverage of the Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville’s real estate expertise, leverage and facilitate transactions geared and adjusted to the Vietnam market.

James Cummiskey

James Cummiskey is a qualified attorney in the US, having qualified at the New York Bar. Jamie joined Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in 2009 with over six years of legal experience in the Southeast Asia region. After graduating with his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University Law School, Jamie worked extensively as a legal adviser in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. With his concentration at Tulane being International Law and after having taken full advantage of the combined common law and civil law curriculum that Tulane offers, Jamie’s educational background is ideally suited to the sort of mixed legal traditions adopted by most Southeast Asian countries.
Jamie has given presentations in Cambodia and Thailand related to real estate investment issues in each of those respective jurisdictions. Jamie will lead the firm’s Bangkok practice with his experience accumulated in the region in respect of the commercial; corporate; finance; joint venture and real estate sectors. Jamie has a good contact base and network in the region, and has assisted global corporations, international development funds, financial institutions, publically listed companies, locally situated companies, and individuals and private enterprises with foreign direct investment, cross boarder transactions and related activities. James offers clients of Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville the benefits of his practical application of his experience and leverage of network throughout the region.

Jamie is involved in providing pro bono assistance in conjunction with the set up and establishment of charitable organisations, participates in charitable activities for disadvantaged children and is a member of the Rotary Club of Bangkok South.

Ingo Müller

Ingo joined Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in 2007 as Senior Associate in the Phuket office having practiced law before in Germany for seven years in the Bonn and Düsseldorf regions as a specialist in contract and commercial law, public services and real estate law. Ingo’s developed field of expertise in Asia is real estate and corporate/commercial law relating to property development, marina and hotel projects representing corporate and individual clients. He has attended and spoken at presentations on legal matters relating to foreign investment in Thailand; and has contributed to and published in a diverse number of English and German speaking publications.
Ingo, was appointed a partner within Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville end of 2009 following his strong involvement in the Phuket office. Ingo is responsible for overseeing and managing the Bali office; for servicing and caring for the local and international client base considering investing in this emerging market.
Ingo has been responsible for developing, structuring and implementing real estate development projects, including legal frameworks for hotel operations tailored to the legal restrictions and environment of various Asian jurisdictions. Pichit Kasipol
Senior Associate

Khun Pichit Kasipol, a Surat Thani native, studied law at Ramkamhaeng University, and specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, having practiced law in Thailand for more than two decades. Khun Pichit is an integral part of the litigation services provided throughout Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville, and he has overseen the completion of numerous high profile civil and criminal cases including; litigation against government offices; representing Thai and foreign individuals and companies in Bangkok, the regions of the North, Eastern Seaboard and Southern areas. Khun Pichit manages and supervises the litigators within Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville, working as a team on high profile cases, including group litigation against companies.

Tanun Rungwiwattanakool
Senior Associate

Khun Tanun Rungwiwattanakool obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree from Chulalongkorn University and has his lawyer license from the Law Society Association of Thailand. Khun Tanun joined Limcharoen Hughes and Glanville with over 12 years of legal experience in Thailand.
Khun Tanun’s main area of expertise is in corporate law, with particular attention to: direct foreign investment, including applications for Board of Investment (BOI) and Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) approved projects; obtaining foreign business licences under the Foreign Business Act; and other foreign business incorporations depending on the structure of the particular corporate entity. Khun Tanun is also experienced in litigation and real estate, labor, and immigration law.

Eddie O’Shea
Senior Associate

Eddie O’Shea qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom. Eddie graduated from the University of Manchester and then obtained a Masters degree in International Commercial Law. Eddie practiced law in London from 2001 to 2007 specialising in commercial real estate law advising corporate clients on a broad range of property acquisition, development, contract and transactional issues.
Eddie joined Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville’s Phuket office in 2008 and uses his experience in the real estate sector to advise the full range of property industry players including developers, investors, corporates and individuals on real estate legal and commercial issues. He also provides corporate and commercial advice to a broad range of corporate and individual clients including those involved in the travel and tourism industry.
Eddie regularly contributes to the real estate industry his knowledge through publications and articles on property law issues in Thailand. Eddie participates in SKAL, is a member of the International Business Association of Phuket and the British Business Association of Phuket. Eddie has supported sponsor driven sporting events for charitable organizations.

Apichart Jangyubol
Senior Associate

Khun Apichart Jangyubol obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree and Masters Degree (in administrative law) from Ramkhamhaeng University. He has also studied Administrative Law at the Institute of Legal Education of the Thai Bar Association, has obtained his Tax Law Certificate from Thammasart University and has his lawyer license from the Law Society Association of Thailand.
Khun Apichart has extensive experience as a lawyer in Thailand, having practiced law since 1996. His areas of expertise include real estate transactions, corporate law (including with respect to the laws governing trading of public securities and related to public companies listed on the SET), labor law issues, trademark and intellectual property registrations, bankruptcy and restructuring and dispute resolution. Khun Apichart is particularly strong when it comes to dispute resolution with his experience including: civil, commercial and criminal litigation; labor disputes; bankruptcy filings and corporate restructurings; and international and domestic arbitration proceedings.

Amorn Thumpratip

Khun Amorn Thumpratip, a Sukhotai native, graduated in law from Ramkamheang University and went on to study Administrative law at the Institute of Legal Education of the Thai Bar Association. Khun Amorn has been practicing law in Thailand for more than 20 years and such practice has been based on the island of Koh Samui for almost the entire 20 years.
Khun Amorn’s main areas of expertise are litigation, dispute resolution, mediation and conciliation and he has worked on numerous high profile criminal and civil litigation cases in Koh Samui, earning him a reputation as a problem solver and commercially minded Koh Samui resident.

Dr Timo Bauer is a qualified German attorney having obtained his doctorate degree at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg.
Timo worked from 2007 as an associate with an international US law firm in the banking & finance department of its office in Frankfurt am Main and
specialised in acquisition and project finance, other non-recourse transactions, syndicated lending, corporate finance and related contract and
transactional issues representing investment banks, funds, other institutional investors and large and mid-size corporations. This experience
also included investment in real estate projects through financing.Timo also worked on several deals whilst being located on secondment in
Singapore.
Timo moved to Thailand from Germany in 2009 to join Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville as a Senior Associate based in the Phuket office.

Ekasit Suttawat
Associate

Khun Ekasit obtained his Bachelor of Law Degree from Thammasat University. He trained in the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Civil Litigation 7, and worked in an international law firm in Thailand before joining Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in 2010.
Khun Ekasit specialises in litigation and dispute resolution matters. Khun Ekasit experience ranges through handling disputes already escalated in the courts and also dispute resolution prior to and during litigious procedures, including but not limited to Civil, Criminal, Labor, Consumer Protection and Domestic Arbitral Proceedings.
Khun Ekasit is a member of the Lawyer Council of Thailand and the Thai Bar Association practicing as a Thai attorney before the courts

Chalawaree Chusap
Associate

Khun Chalawaree Chusap obtained her Master of Law Degree from Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. She previously worked in and was a legal trainee in international law firms in Thailand.
Khun Chalawaree has experience in the field of corporate and contract law as well as for both civil and criminal matters. She has assisted in the project management of several high profile cases overseen by Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville.
Khun Chalawaree recently wrote a thesis regarding the Credit Information Act which was published and commended for its content.
Khun Chalawaree is also a member of the Thai Bar Association and Lawyer Council of Thailand.

Gangga W. Mantik
Associate

Gangga W. Mantik joined the Bali Office of Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in January 2010 as Senior Associate after having practiced for 4 years as a corporate lawyer at a leading international law firm in Jakarta, Indonesia. Gangga specialized and worked on incorporation of numerous foreign capital companies and joint venture companies licensed by the Indonesian Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in various sectors, including preparation of joint venture agreements and related agreements thereto and dealing with Indonesia's Foreign Investment Law matters.
Gangga graduated from the Faculty of Law of Udayana University (Bali) in 2003 and obtained his master degree in business law from the University of Indonesia (Jakarta) in 2006. His main practice areas include general corporate and commercial law, foreign capital investment, shipping law, as well as land and real estate law.
Gangga is a member of the Indonesian Advocate Association (Peradi) and holds advocate license issued by Peradi.

Gerry Purba

Gerry Purba obtained his bachelor degree at law from Law Faculty of Padjadjaran University, Indonesia in 2002, and obtained his master degree at law from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the Netherlands in 2006 specialising in Economics and Business Law. Gerry commenced practicing law in Indonesia from 2007. Gerry’s specialty as a practitioner in Indonesia is corporate and commercial law, foreign investment and real estate spanning all facets of land and property including resorts.
Gerry joined the Bali Office of Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville in January 2010 as a Senior Associate. Prior to joining Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville, Bali Office, Gerry had been worked with a foreign agro-industry company where he obtained hands on commercial practical experience, and immediately prior, working as an Associate in a leading law firm in Jakarta.

Margaretha Heidi Amelia graduated from the Faculty of Law University of Indonesia in 2006 specializing in economic and business law. Heidi is an associate with Limcharoen Hughes & Glanville Bali since end of 2009 and responsible for providing legal research, reviewing and drafting legal documents and agreements.
Previously, Heidi worked with a leading boutique law office in Jakarta specializing in business law, bankruptcy law and administrative law for 3 years advising clients on all business related matters and also providing assistance in litigation cases. Brandy Baker

Brandy Baker is a qualified attorney in the US, having qualified at the Illinois Bar. Brandy graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois specializing in the areas of international commercial law, corporate law, and alternative dispute resolution. She also studied at the National University of Singapore while working at a major Singaporean law firm. Brandy joined the Ho Chi Minh City office of Limcharoen, Hughes & Glanville in February 2010 as an Associate.

Hoai Tran
Senior Associate

Mr. Hoai Tran has 10 years experience working for the Government and an international law firm in Vietnam. Hoai has advised local and foreign clients on a wide range of legal issues including; infrastructure, corporate/commercial, securities, as well as foreign investment in Vietnam (direct and indirect), specifically aimed in the real estate sector.
