GOVERNMENT LIAISON – BOARD OF INVESTMENT / MINISTRIES OF PLANNING & INVESTMENT ASSISTANCE
The ‘names’ given to the government offices in the jurisdictions we operate in, can vary, but the principles of obtaining maximum privileges and benefits through Foreign Direct Investment apply. We have advised hotel, leisure and retail specialists on applying for and obtaining the privileges available through the procedures of licensing and such procedures can involve concessions which, in an emerging market, may result in strengthened privileges in return for greater investment of capital and employment of local resources.

FINANCING PROJECT INVESTMENT – PUBLIC & PRIVATE RAISING OF CAPITAL
Our firm is able to work closely with our clients from the inception of the idea of a real estate project through to implementation. This can extend to include arrangements and legal aspects of obtaining and raising capital to finance the project. We can lend our experience and expertise in dealing with local Thai banks; institutional investors; and private equity groups or individual investors. Each type of finance arrangements requires a different set of criteria and approach in terms of documentation; due diligence; feasibility; and method of release of capital. Certain institutions demand a minimum standard in terms of the contractual; corporate structure; capitalisation; legal and financial data of an applicant. Combined with strong relationships, we are able to add value to what would ordinarily be a ‘cold’ application.
